what is so special about tanabata festival?

In this new semester, we are told to create our own individual wallpaper based on the theme of a festival..
When the key word of festival came into my mind, I thought of festivals like the followings: Chinese New Year,Mid-Autumn Festival,Deepavali,Hari Raya,Christmast,Valentine's Day and Halloween Day...However all these festivals seemed so common to most of the people!!I wished to do something special so that the festival that I had chosen would leave an indelible mark to all of them!!

Hence, I decided to choose Tanabata Festival!!

Tanabata, in chinese meant 'qi xi' or some people named it as the 'Evening of Seventh'. This event is celebrated widely among the Japanese.Well, this festival is used to celebrate the reunion of the famous Orihime and Hikoboshi. In fact this legacy story is quite a sad ones as they are allowed to meet each other on every 7th of July on each year. This is due to according to the Milky way, which is indeed a river made from stars that crosses the starry sky to separate these lovers and are only allowed to meet once a year which falls on the 7th of July on each year. Indeed this festival mostly celebrated at night.
